McCall Basketball- BOYS 3&4 grade - Winter 2024

Youth Basketball League is coming your way!  This 6-week program will include practices 2-days each week and Saturday games.  Please enroll your child ONLY IF you can commit to attending 80% practices and games.  We need players and parents to commit, because our coaches commit their time too!  Be honest with yourself- thank you!

Games will be Saturdays, starting Nov. 16. Boys 3&4 grade team will always play at 11:00am, no matter where the games are located.

No School Fun Day- Oct. 18 - Fall 2024

Fall is in the air, so let the fall festivities begin!  Join your favorite McCall Parks and Recreation duo (Stef and Tara) for a FULL day of all things fall. Our adventures begin with a trip to the World Center for Birds of Prey's Fall Flight show. This live performance will have your 'lil one talking all about the birds who swooped down low, overhead in this stunning performance!  Next we drive down the road to Lowe's Family Farmstead for an afternoon hayride, pumpkin patch, barnyard games, animals, rides and u-pick it flowers! Kids will come home with pumpkins, flowers and memories. 

*Lunch NOT provided. Please pack your little ones lunch, snacks and water for the trip. Fee covers cost of admission and transportation.

When: Friday, October 18

Time: 8:00am-5:30pm

No School Fun Day- Dec. 30 - Winter 2024

Join McCall Parks and Recreation for another No School Fun Day on Monday, December 30. We will drive to Cascade Rec Center to swim, jump, dive and shower before lunch. Each child will need to pack a lunch, snacks and waterbottle.  Afterwards we will drive back to McCall for a PG movie at the Idaho First Bank basement (who graciously donates the space each time!)  Movies snacks and drinks will be provided.

All trips will be supervised by McCall Parks and Recreation staff.

Kids will need their SNOW 5 (hat, jacket, snow pants, boots and gloves)- as we plan to play outside in the snow after lunch in the park!

Cost: $25 Residents (live inside McCall city limits) $23.36 program fee, $1.50 State Tax, $0.25 LOT

We will start the day off with a PG movie at the basement of the Idaho First Bank building (thank you IFB for graciously donating the space).  After the movie, crafts and games we will load up and travel to Zim's Hot Springs for an afternoon of soaking in the springs.

Pumpkins and Petals - Fall 2024

Your favorite McCall Parks and Recreation duo (wink) has teamed up with Salmon River Brewery and Desert Daughter Preservations to bring you an evening of crafting fun!  Registrations include ALL materials, with the option to decorate another pumpkin if your heart desires.  Check out the details:

Witches, Wizards & Warlocks On the Water - Fall 2024

WEATHER DEPENDENT!  Check the forecast before you come out- bring layers- bring your life jacket- bring your witches OR wizard attire- bring your best cackle!

Join McCall Parks and Recreation and the McCall Outdoor Swim Society on Saturday, October 26th at 2:00pm at Legacy Park

Witches and Wizards of all ages who can paddle their own non-motorized watercraft from Legacy to Rotary Park are welcome!  Free to participate. Please read the event requirements:

• Personal Floatation Devices required on each water craft. We can provide one if needed
• Free to participate, but must sign a waiver
• <18 must have parent participate and sign child's waiver
• Warm clothing a must, for examples: wetsuit under costume, neoprene socks, layers!
• Witch or Wizard hat also a must

Once we arrive a Rotary Park, witches and wizards can choose to:

• stay for special witches brew at Shore Lodge (of age witches and wizards only)
• turn around and paddle back
• arrange for pick up at Rotary Park

Ladies Snowshoe - Winter 2024

Ladies only snowshoe afternoon with EmpowHer Outdoors along the North Valley Trail system. This adventure is for ALL skill levels! Option to stay flat along the meadow loop or challenge yourself with 100' elevation gain for a beautiful McCall valley view. Warm beverages provided at the end!

Snowshoes and poles are available if needed.

Dates: February 1 OR March 1

Times: 1:00-4:00pm

Where: Activity Barn Parking lot; near North Valley Trail

Cost: $25 City of McCall residents 

$30 Non-City residents

Need to Know: Dress in layers (so you can take off layers as you warm up)- make sure to include a hat, gloves/mittens, snow boots, warm socks, sunglasses and small bag to carry your water and personal belongings. The full trail is 2.2 miles total and includes flat open meadow, hill climb and descent; with option to stay flat if so desires.
